Reading websites
This comes from the "Really Good Stuff" blog.
(I would have provided a link, but it would not work. Sorry).
I will have to check out these sites. We use Starfall and Tumble Books. One year I used "We Give Books", but the others are new to me. I will have to check them out.

Great websites
Some of you in attendance at my sessions at Creative Cornerstones asked for me to post information about the websites I recommended. For now I will post the sites. My email at home is VERY slow. I cannot post a link to them yet. When I get to a place with faster Internet soon, I will update the posts with links.
My favorites on Teachers Pay Teachers are Julie Lee and Deanna Jump. Everything they produce is quality!
Kellyskindergarten has great games that you can program with your own words and skills. This is a fabulous website with tons of ideas.
Kidscount1234 is a fabulous site. Both of Shari Sloane's CDs are wonderful! On her site she has the ready to go enlarged text and some pictures making it easy to make big books of her songs. I LOVE her song Bingo Bango Bongo (my kiddos did too).
I recently learned about a really great math site it is k-5mathteachingresources.com . It is a great resource for common core math standard ideas for all elementary grades.

Cool sites
Today I went to an In-service at our ESC. Among the many great things I learned, is a great new website. It is like "you tube" for teaching. It has videos of teachers engaged in learning activities and activity ideas for the standards. I was excited that all of the videos they showed were kindergarten examples. Most of the time at in-services the videos and samples are way above kindergarten level. I loved the video for a game called "Mingle and Count". I love the activity!.

Pete the Cat
Click on the title to go to the official Pete the Cat site. You can download the song free. There are some awesome resources as well.
My kiddos LOVED the Pete the Cat book I Love My White Shoes. I made this file folder type retelling prop. to use with them. I did find that it works much better when I used a large piece of construction paper instead of a file folder. The paper is folded not quite in half to create the folder. The shoes are cut out before laminating. Then it is laminated open flat. Sides are taped with wide clear tape. Details are added to shoes at the end. White, red, blue, brown and damp looking white paper is added to the formed pocket. As the story is told, remove each sheet of paper which changes to shoe color.
